Step 1: Make sure the battery pack is charged. The LED light will turn red when the battery is low.
Step 2: Turn the power off. Remove any game paks or cards. Wait a few minutes, reinsert the games and turn the power back on.
Step 3: Adjust the volume. If you have sound issues, try adjusting the volume control. Keep in mind that the speakers will not function when headphones are plugged in.
Step 4: Realign the stylus. From the DS Menu Screen, tap the settings panel. Touch the “touch screen” panel to align the stylus. Follow the instructions.
Step 5: Seek a better position. Improve wireless signal by standing within 30 feet of other DS systems. Make sure there are no other wireless devices interfering.
Step 6: Check the alarm. If the backlight turns off, it could be because the alarm is set. If there are numbers in the bottom of the screen, it means the alarm is set.
Step 7: Check the system settings. You could also have turned off the backlight in the system settings. Tap the settings panel from the DS Menu Screen to access the settings.
Step 8: Check the touch screen for foreign material. Hold the system flat at eye level and look around the edges for any crumbs or dirt that may be lodged between the screen and the edge.
Step 9: Check the speakers. If sound only comes out of one speaker while playing a game, turn off your system and then turn it back on. Listen carefully as the system starts up. If you still only hear sound from one speaker, your speakers may be broken.
Step 10: Make sure the game is inserted correctly and is compatible. Slot 2 functions for Game Boy Advance games only. Slot 1 is for Nintendo DS Games.
